About Us

627 Transfer is a small Buckinghamshire-based business started in 2013 by Fiona Kinsman, a specialist in supporting vulnerable children’s transition to secondary school.

Based on research about the effects of poor transition experiences and the impact of interventions, we provide targeted support and whole class workshops to prepare pupils for the transfer and help them settle into secondary school smoothly.

Support is delivered by Fiona and her team of experienced Transfer Associates, who come from a range of teaching and psychological backgrounds. Between us, the current team has qualifications in counselling, SEND and coaching, as well as experience working in primary schools, secondary schools, PRUs and therapeutic settings.

Since 2013, we have helped over 6200 children and worked with over 270 primary and secondary schools across Bucks, Berks, Herts and beyond. Our work is highly valued and appreciated by Headteachers, SENDCos, class teachers, Virtual Schools and social workers.

I own and run 627 Transfer – it’s me at the other end of the email and phone answering queries and organising bookings. I also deliver a lot of the support myself – you’ll see me out and about running small groups and workshops, and sometimes you might spot me in secondary schools or online sessions, too!

I have worked in education since 1998, including as a qualified primary and secondary school HLTA and a PRU Outreach Support Specialist, and I have been specialising in transition support since 2004.
